Wednesday Morning Exercise Paddle and Rolls

This is a free event for all Kayak Academy alumni and friends and Mountaineers kayakers.

Paddle Schedule: Weekly

Every Wednesday morning from Oct. - Mid May you can come play on and in the water with Bob Burnett and/or other Kayak Academy staff on Lake Sammamish. Brush up on your forward stroke and get some exercise while paddling a few miles on the lake.

Bring your own sea kayak and wet suit or dry suit or prearrange to rent them

from the Kayak Academy (in which case your rental gear will be on site at the lake).

Beginners need prior safety training - this isn't a guided tour.

Mark your calendar and plan to come often.

Prerequisites: Sea kayak safety training, the ability to swim well enough to be comfortable putting your head under water and able to swim the crawl stroke or breast stroke without a buoyancy aid can join this group, and yes we wear PFD's (life jackets) while on the water -- but you still need basic swimming skills. Minimum age--sixteen.

Location: Meet at Tibbitts Beach, Lake Sammamish State Park (see map below) Look for the Issaquah Paddle Sports shed.
Tuition: Free if you have your own equipment. Call ahead if you need to rent.
Instructor: Staff, primarily George and Barb Gronseth and/or Bob Burnett

We have special reduced rental rates for these practice sessions.
