*For the Big Tuna and Cuda 14 as well as most SOT kayaks over 14' long, we highly recommend having a rudder because kayaks this length and longer are harder to steer and more affected by wind than shorter kayaks. People who buy these without rudders often come back to have a rudder retro-fitted and that costs about twice as much as a factory installed rudder system. We list the price w/o rudder for comparison only.

Jackson angler kayaks come standard with more features fisherman really want than any other brand. You can take your Jackson angler kayak right out of the box and go fish. Specifics of which rod holders etc. vary by model, but all SOT angler models come with: rod tip protectors on the bow, paddle and rod holders on BOTH sides, a GoPro camera mount, and a Zippered pocket on the seat back. On 2014 SOT angler models, seats come standard w/adjustable lumbar support too. Besides feeling good on your back, the lumbar support improves the comfort of wearing a PFD while kayak fishing. 2014 Cuda 12' & 14' come standard with mounting rails/tracks on the center hatch cover making it easier than ever to add your favorite RAM mount electronics holders for GPS, fish-finder display, ipad tablet, etc.

All Jackson angler SOT kayaks feature a unique two position "High-Low" seat and a "stand assist strap". When kayak fishing, the higher the seat the better. Sitting higher makes casting easier, allows you to reach more gear around you, lets you see into the water better, and makes playing the fish easier. Jackson's angler kayaks have the highest seat position of any fishing kayak. Sitting higher also makes it easier to transition from sitting to standing, and Jackson angler SOT kayaks make getting up and down super easy thanks to their "stand assist handle" strap (it really works). Jackson fishing kayaks come standard with a seat that's like a short legged, lawn chair (only stronger, and yes you can take it off and use it at camp). This seat is a big step forward for the kayak fishing world. Other SOT angler kayaks are still using seats designed for paddling not fishing, Jackson's high/low seat positions give you the best of both paddling and fishing seat positions. Even in its low position, Jackson's SOT kayak seat is higher than most other angler kayak seats, and this means your back side stays drier when paddling.

For fishing in rivers, you want a kayak that's simple (no rudder to break off), rugged (bounces off rocks), and maneuverable. That defines the Jackson Coosa. On rivers, maneuverability is more important than speed because the current's going to drift you down stream. The Coosa Elite's 11'2" length makes it highly maneuverable and easy to transport - you can toss it in the back of a pickup or van. Coosa is light enough and tough enough to simply drag to the put-in or over portages, and it has a replaceable skid plate on the stern keel in case you drag it a lot. It's built to be tough because rivers are hard on boats -- Jackson knows because they are a world leader in white water river kayaks.

For open water fishing in lakes and saltwater, the farther you have to paddle the more you'll benefit from a longer kayak. If you plan to paddle more than a few minutes to get where you want to fish, we recommend at least a 12' kayak and longer is better. In addition to more speed and glide, a 14' kayak offers more stability for standing while fishing. On the other hand, if you want simplicity (no rudder), light weight, and easy of transporting in your truck bed, and one boat versatile enough to do both river and open water fishing, you can't go wrong with the Cuda 12'. If you want more speed, better glide, and more stability, get the Cuda 14' with rudder. If you want the option to take a friend or go solo, the Big Tuna w/ rudder is the ultimate kayak fishing machine. On the Big Tuna, you can face both seats forward for paddling or turn the front seat around to be social and help each other while fishing (pass me that ____), or you can leave a seat at home and paddle solo with the rear seat moved to the middle position.

The Big Rig is the newest angler kayak from Jackson and as the name suggests it is big and stable. Designed with big guys in mind, the Big Rig has the stability and buoyancy to handle a big person and it is also a supper platform to fly fish from. The Big Rig has scupper holes specifically designed for installing a Raymarine Dragonfly fish finder transducer! And it comes standard with a casting bar to lean against when standing. The casting bar folds down when it's not needed.

We have demo kayaks available for all the above Jackson Fishing Kayaks, call or email to arrange a private demo on L. Sammamish: 206 527 1825

If you need help customizing your angler kayak, K.A. stocks RAM mount and YakAttack kayak fishing accessories and we have the know-how to rig just about anything on a fishing kayak.

Jackson Kayaks has a great Web site with lots of videos on features of their fishing kayaks and how to get the most out of them.

The NuCanoe Frontier is the most stable and versatile fishing hybrid kayak/canoe in the world. You can face both seats forward for paddling or turn the front seat around to be social and help each other while fishing (pass me that ____). The seat tracks are also used for attaching rod holders, GPS mounts, etc. at any spot you want along the gunwales. NuCanoe Frontier can be used as is, but by simply turning the seats over you can add the optional padded Swivel Seats for the ultimate in fishing comfort and high seating position for casting (the under side of the Frontier's seat bases have threaded inserts and recesses for mounting the quick release locking plate that comes with the optional Swivel Seat, making it super easy to install Swivel Seats without any extra adapter plates or hardware. Sitting up higher with the Swivel Seat also makes standing up easier. NuCanoe has the largest assortment of accessories for fishing etc. of anyone. Whether you want to add an electric trolling motor, a table with holes for mounting your GPS and fish finder, the Frontier Casting Bar rail to stabilize you when standing up to cast -- NuCanoe has it all.

Caribbean 12 Angler 12' 30"     45   300lbs Large front hatch with liner bucket, small rubber center and rear hatches, 2 flush mount rod holder tubes, 1 Ram 2007 Rod Holder w/ Yakattack 1.5" Screw Ball and Tracks on gunwales, paddle holders on both sides $1529.00
Caribbean 14 Angler 14' 29"     50   400lbs Large front hatch with liner bucket, small rubber center and rear hatches, center console detachable mounting surface, 2 flush mount rod holder tubes, 1 Ram 2007 Rod Holder w/ Yakattack 1.5" Screw Ball and Tracks on gunwales, paddle holders on both sides, retractable bow and stern handles $1899.00

For Caribbean 14 as well as most SOT kayaks over 14' long, we highly recommend having a rudder because kayaks this length and longer are harder to steer and more affected by wind than shorter kayaks. People who buy these without rudders often come back to have a rudder retro-fitted and that costs twice as much as a factory installed rudder system. We list the price of the Caribbean 14 w/o rudder for comparison only. An Eddyline factory installed foot controlled rudder is only $250 extra.

Eddyline Kayak's Caribbean Angler kayaks are the lightest SOT fishing kayaks of their respective sizes anywhere. Unlike roto-molded polyethylene kayaks, Eddyline's thermoformed kayaks have the stiffness and resistance to warping like a fiberglass kayak but without the fragile gelcoat. In fact the Carbonlite material used to build the Eddyline thermoformed kayaks resists scratching and abrasion better than gelcoat, fiberglass, or polyethylene. So if you have to drag your kayak up the beach (which we try to avoid, but there are times you just have to) it's better to drag a thermoformed Carbonlite kayak than any other. Also the lighter the kayak the easier it is to drag (heavy kayaks dig a deep trench in the sand when you drag them) and the less wear and tear dragging does to the hull.

Gunwale tracks are used for mounting rod holders, fish finder, GPS, etc. at any spot you want along the gunwales.

We will ship Eddyline Angler kayaks to 48 contiguous US States for $150.00

For more info, click here to go to Eddyline Kayaks Web site. Their warehouse is here in Wa, so we can usually get any model and color offered within a couple weeks.

Wilderness System is one of the biggest brands in the kayak industry, and they offer a wide variety of Sit-On-Top angler kayaks including some of the longest and fastest fishing kayaks available. All WS Angler kayaks come with Scotty rod holder and a folding kayak anchor. Tarpons are available in angler models from 10'-16' long. Ten foot kayaks are light and easy to transport in a truck or van, but if you paddle any distance you'll want to go for at least a 12' to save work and spend your time fishing rather than paddling hard to get there. For pure simplicity you can't beat the Tarpon 120 and 140. The Ride 135 Angler is one of the most stable one-person fishing kayaks made, and it can handle a heavier paddler than any other WS SOT single. If you have a long distance to paddle to get where you want to fish, we recommend the Tarpon 160 Angler with rudder, it's the fastest one-person SOT angler kayak around.

*For the 14' Tarpon, a rudder is recommended, however, for a skilled kayaker this is a matter of preference. For the 16' Tarpon, as well as most SOT kayaks over 14' long, we highly recommend having a rudder because kayaks this length and up are harder to steer and more affected by wind than shorter kayaks. Most people will find all the above kayaks stable, but for a given length, the Ride offers more stability than a similar length Tarpon. The trade off is that the Tarpon is sleeker so it takes less work to paddle than a Ride. If you plan to paddle more than a few minutes to get where you want to fish, we recommend at least a 12' version of the above, and longer is better. The Ride 135 Angler features the tallest seat and the highest paddler weight capacity of all the WS brand S.O.T. fishing kayaks.

**The paddler's weight Capacities here are lower than what WS lists on their Web site, the Capacity here are what we have found to be the practical limit for paddler plus gear - there is reserve buoyancy so you can exceed this capacity somewhat, but the kayak won't feel as stable as it should.
