Men's Rental Dry Suits for Rafting and KayakingWomen's Rental Dry SuitsWomen's Dry Suit with drop seat zipper

Need a water sports dry suit? K.A. specializes in renting Kokatat GoreTex dry suits for rafting and kayaking, and we ship them anywhere in the USA. We rent men's and women's Kokatat GoreTex dry suits with Gore-Tex dry socks and relief (pee) systems. K.A. has the experience and size selection to fit your rental drysuit better than anyone (from youth sizes to 6' 8").

We have the world's largest fleet of rental GoreTex drysuits and widest selection of men's and women's sizes of rental dry suit. People rent our dry suits for: kayaking, rafting, sailing, arctic trips, etc. (However, our suits are for surface watersports only, for SCUBA dive suits contact a dive shop). Our rental dry suits are made by Kokatat -- the highest quality brand in the water-sports drysuit industry. Most of our rental dry suits are the deluxe version of the model Kokatat calls their Gore-Tex Front Entry model (GFER for men and GFED for women) with GoreTex dry-socks and either a Men's "Relief Zipper" or Women's Drop-Seat Zipper pee system (lowest photo shows backside view of a women's suit with a drop seat zipper). For those interested it trying a less expensive waterproof/breathable dry suit before buying one, we also have a limited quantity of Kokatat Women's Tropos SuperNova paddling suits and Men's and women's Lightweight Gore-Tex Paddling Suits available by request (the rental fees are the same regardless of the style suit).

We inspect our rental dry suits before and after each use, and keep them in top condition. On average, our rental suits are less than one year old and generally no more than three years old. New, these suit cost about $925 - $1200. You may rent by the day ($35 first day plus $25/day extra days with a two day minimum for suits we ship) or by the trip (typically $275.00 flat fee for rentals from 12 to 30 days with a $200.00 damage deposit held until the suit is returned in acceptable condition and tested for damage). For example, if you are rafting down the Grand Canyon for 21 days we will only charge you a flat fee of $275.00 plus shipping, or if you need a dry suit for a few days in the middle of a three week expedition cruise to antarctica, we will only charge you a flat fee of $275.00 plus shipping, even though the dry suit will be out of our shop for over a month. If you need a dry suit for a one or two-day weekend trip, but you need us to shipped it to you (we are based near Seattle in Issaquah, WA and local renters may pick up suits here), we will only charge you for the days of use and the cost of shipping - no fee for the time in transit (However, a two day minimum rental is required for shipped suits). If you decide you want to buy a new dry suit from us before the end of the year (Dec. 31), you may use up to $150.00 of your suit's rental fee as credit toward purchasing a new dry suit from the us (Credit is not transferable and may not be combined with any other discounts or special offers. You may not combine the rental fees from more than one suit toward the purchase of one suit. For example if two people rent two suits for a month ($275 rental fee each), they may each use $150 of their rental fees as credit toward purchasing new suits, but they can not use $300 as credit toward the purchase of just one suit.

We ship our rental dry suits to any state in the US. UPS ground shipping will typically cost you $12.00 for one suit $18 for two suits in one box) for the 48 contiguous US states, for Alaska and Hawaii we'll ship Priority Mail. There is no sales tax on rental shipped outside of Washington State. Faster shipping (3-day UPS, 2-day UPS, UPS Next Day Air, etc.) is available for an added fee. We can also make a pre-paid UPS return shipping label for you to make it easier for you to return the rental at the end of your trip (just drop it off at any office supply business that offers UPS shipping services). Prepaid return shipping labels will typically cost you $12.00 for one suit. Please email or call us as far in advance as possible to allow for shipping time and ease our scheduling. If you give us enough advance notice, we will time the shipping date so the suit arrives several days before your trip (no extra charge) giving you time to try it on and call us if you have any questions about wearing a dry suit or the fit of your rental suit (while there is still enough time to overnight ship a different sized suit if needed). So please don't wait till the last minute.

If you’ve never worn a dry suit before, your first impression will likely be that the neck gasket is too tight. But gaskets need to be snug or the suit will leak. Generally people forget all about the gaskets once they get on the water and start having fun. If you try on a new dry suit at a store, the gaskets probably are tighter than necessary. However, we customize the fit of the gaskets on our rental suits in proportion to the neck and wrist sizes of the average person likely to wear each size dry suit. If you have an unusually large neck or wrist and/or a medical sensitivity that makes a tight gasket cause a real health problem (i.e. you’ve had lymph nodes removed or you are truly concerned about your circulation), ask someone with experience wearing a dry suit to check the gasket fit. The only way to significantly loosen a gasket is to trim it, you may need to do this, however, if you trim a gasket we will have to replace it so the suit won’t leak for the next renter - therefore you will be billed for the cost of replacing the gasket ($62 neck and $32 each wrist).

You must wear wetsuit booties over the dry socks on our dry suits - dry socks are not for walking without the protection of booties. If you wear sandals or Crocks over the dry socks, the socks will be exposed to abrasion from brush and rocks which can wear out the socks in one trip. Replacing dry socks will cost you $160.00. We have the worlds most comfortable rental booties and you can rent them for $5/day or $25 flat fee for up to 30 days. We offer a Special Long Term Bootie Rental Deal - we'll rent you a new pair of booties for $25.00, and you can buy the booties you rented at the end of the trip (before returning the suit) for only $25.00 more (total cost $50.00, and you'll save about $5 on the return shipping without the weight of the booties in the box). These are our most popular booties for wearing with dry suits, and they also work for rafting, sea kayaking, sail boarding, snorkeling, diving, etc. Click here, Cross 4 Bootie to see the booties in this offer (available in unisex sizes 6 - 15).

If you are local (we are in the Eastside/greater Seattle, WA area), rental dry suits may be picked up a day or more in advance and returned up to one day after your trip with no extra charge. We are located between Issaquah and Renton, 1/2 mile east of Hwy. 900 (address and map on our "About Us" tab under "Contact Info").

    Dry Suit Rental Fees:
  • $35 first day
  • $25 each day extra day (with a two day minimum for suits we ship)
  • or $275.00 flat fee for rentals from 12 to 30 days with a $200.00 damage deposit.

Note, to reserve a rental dry suit, you must prepay. If you haven't paid, you do not have a reservation.

Our goal is to give every renter a full refund of their damage deposit, and we've written some "Tips for Drysuit Renters" which we include with long term rentals to help you avoid damage to your rental suit. We don't expect our suits to come back in as good a condition as they left our shop, but after a month long trip there are obvious differences between a conscientious renter and a careless one. Our rental dry suits are the most rugged and tough waterproof breathable watersports dry suits made, but no drysuit can withstand carelessness. If your suit cleans up with normal machine washing and has no more than three pinhole leaks, we'll give you a full return of your damage deposit. We'll even forgive one torn gasket (sometimes it happens, especially with inexperienced renters and that's part of the cost of business). However, if there is more than one damaged gasket or any gaskets have been trimmed to loosen them, the cost for parts and labor to replace them will be deducted from your damage deposit (see our on-line store for gasket repair costs). If there are more than three small pinhole leaks, we will deduct $5.00 each from your damage deposit for the fourth, fifth, etc. Rips, broken zippers, and worn out dry socks require factory repair/replacement - the retail cost of which plus shipping will be deducted from your damage deposit.

Note: It typically takes a month after we receive your rental suit before we can process any credit for your damage deposit. If you want faster return of your credit, return the suit in a clean condition and take good care of the suit on your trip (read the "Renter's Guide" we send with the suit and follow its advice). The dirtier the suit and the more you abuse it, the longer it takes for our inspection, cleaning, replacing gaskets, water testing, repairs, repeat tests, further repairs, further tests, sending back to the factory for tests and repairs, and the more you'll lower the resale value of the suit. You wouldn't want to rent a leaky suit, and we wouldn't want the next person who rents your suit to have it leak either. It takes a lot of time, labor, skill, knowledge, and experience to keep these suits in as good a condition as our rental suits. We take pride in what we do and we don't rush our rental inspections - that's why most people rent from us. Be patient about getting your deposit credit and remember, the better you take care of your rental suit the faster we can return your credit and the less you will be charged for damage. In the first month after we receive your rental suit, a $10.00 service fee will be deducted from any credit you have for each time you contact us about the status of your deposit credit. About half of our long term renters are good renters, and good renters get their full $200.00 damage deposit back in about three weeks from the time we receive their rental suit. So please be a good renter and everyone will be happier.

"I would like to thank your staff for the rental of the dry suit. It worked perfectly. The professional help and courtesy extended was greatly apprecieated." SL 12/2/2011.

"Thank you for renting the dry suits to Amy and I, they were comfortable and effective. When I asked the booking staff at Quark Expeditions for recommendations of where I could rent a dry suit they had none. I found you through a web search. Most of the Kayakers on our Antarctic trip reported having a very hard time finding places to rent dry suits, so I gave out your web site and suggested the staff add you to the trip prep documentation. Regards, Geoff"

"I could not have been more pleased with your service, and the quality of the rental suit was excellent!", B.H., FL
