Rental Kayaks And Kayaking Equipment Rentals

At the Kayak Academy we spoil our renters by providing them with the same high quality gear that we ourselves like to use. In addition to kayaks, we also rent wet suits, dry suits, neoprene booties, kayak helmets, tents, sleeping bags, air mattresses, and more. Most rental gear (except kayaks) can be shipped within the US. Rental gear may be picked up a day in advance and returned up to a day after your trip with no extra charge. However, with the exception of our sit-on-top kayaks, you must have safety training before renting a kayak. If renting a kayak, contact us in advance to verify your safety training and roof racks meet our requirements. Call us at (206) 527-1825 or E-mail us to make a rental reservation. For rentals used or shipped within Washington State, sales tax is added onto rental fees and shipping.

Dry Suit Rentals

We rent (and sell) Kokatat brand Gore-Tex dry suits in men's and woman's sizes, and we ship rental dry suits anywhere in the 50 US States. The rental fees for dry suits are $35.00 per suit for the first day and $25.00 per suit for each additional day, but we have special rates for extended rentals. There is a two day minimum rental fee for shipped rentals. You may use up to $150.00 of your dry suit rental fees as a credit toward purchasing a new dry suit from us until the end of the calendar year, December 31. Wet Suit Rentals

We rent neoprene farmer john wet suits in men's and woman's sizes, and we ship rental wet suits anywhere in the 50 US States. The rental fees for wet suits are $15.00 per suit for the first day and $10.00 per suit for each additional day. There is a two day minimum rental fee for shipped rentals. We have rental wet suits available in all sizes of Kokatat's men's and women's wets suits plus men's NRS Grizzly size wet suits.

Sea Kayak Rentals

Our sea kayak rental packages are the most complete packages we know of. We include free use of PFD (life jackets) with whistle attached, paddle, spray skirt (full neoprene or neoprene/nylon combination - not the cheap nylon type), bilge pump with pump float, and a self-rescue paddle float. Our one-person sea kayak rental fleet specializes in state-of-the-art rudder-free fiberglass and roto-molded sea kayaks with retractable skegs from Valley, TideRace, Rockpool, Wilderness Systems, Maelstrom, and Impex. For two-person sea kayaks we offer WS Northstar and Eddyline Whisper doubles (both with rudders). Call before coming to our shop to rent a kayak. Kayak renters must talk with our senior staff about safety skills and roof rack requirements before we will rent. If you are a Kayak Academy alumni or a Mountaineer Sea Kayak Course graduate, be sure to mention that first so we can check our records and speed up the process.

Single Kayak Rental: $65 for the first day ($30 during our lessons), $35 for each additional day.
Double Kayaks Rental:$85 for the first day ($50 during our lessons), $45 for each additional day
Winter Kayak Rental only: $250.00 Oct. 15 - Mar. 15 (limited to Rockpool TCC, roto-molded WS Tempests, roto-molded Valley sea kayaks, roto-moled Dagger Alchemy 14S and14L sea kayaks)

Sit On-Top Kayak and SUP Rentals

We rent SOT Kayaks and SUP paddle boards through our subsidiary, Issaquah Paddle Sports (IPS). Please click here to learn more about IPS.

Our sit-on-top kayak rental packages include PFD's (life jackets) with whistle attached and a paddle. We have sit-on-top kayaks by Feel Free Kayaks, Wilderness Systems, and NuCanoe. Choose from: FeelFree Nomad SOT for touring and surf kayaking, Wilderness Systems Ride 135 and Tarpon 160 for kayak fishing and touring, and NuCanoe for fishing. Sit On-Top Kayak rental fee: $50/day.
