This weekend is the annual slalom race at Landsburg on the Cedar River (20 minutes from K.A. shop). This race course is one of the best for spectators and photographers, so even if you aren't up for competing go watch!

For information about the race: League of NW Whitewater Racers

The race course/gates are there year around making this the closest course to Seattle to practice and learn to run slalom gates. There is an informal practice on the first Saturday of every month and river runners are welcome to join. For info see Facebook Page: First Saturday Whitewater Slalom Practice

Volunteers have recently been working on repairing the gates and there will be more work parties in the future. Read about it on the blog: NW Canoe-Kayak Race Center on the Cedar River
