Introduction

As of the 2023 model, Kokatat's SuperNova Semi Dry Suit is made of the same waterproof/breathable Hydrus 3.0 fabric as all of Kokatat's Hydrus dry suits - the only difference between the SuperNova suit and the other Hydrus dry suits is the Neo Cinch Collar instead of a latex neck gasket.

The Kokatat SuperNova Semi-Dry Suit has similar features as the Swift Entry dry suit except that it has the "Neo Cinch Collar", instead of a neoprene neck gasket. The Neo Cinch Collar on the SuperNova Paddling suit doesn't seal as well as a latex neck gasket, but it's more comfortable to wear than the latex neck gasket. As long as you aren't practicing multiple rolls in a kayak or going for a long swim off shore, the neoprene neck on the SuperNova suit may be good enough for your paddling needs (rec kayaking, canoeing, frostbite sailing, etc.). In other words, you will get several spoons full of water down the neck each time your head and/or neck go under water, but from the neck down the SuperNova Suit is the same as a dry suit. 

Description

The Kokatat SuperNova Semi Dry Suit is made of a 3 layer waterproof/breathable fabric called Hydrus 3.0. The men's suit comes standard with latex wrist gaskets, adjustable neoprene over-cuffs at the wrists and ankles (that cover the top of your booties to keep gravel out), waterproof breathable Dry-Socks made of the Hydrus 3.0 fabric, a men's Relief Zipper (for speed and convenience when nature calls), and a front entry water-sports nylon zipper that runs diagonally across the chest of the suit making it easy to get in and out of (as opposed to dry suits with rear entry shoulder zippers that require teamwork to get in and out of without breaking the zipper).

For fishermen and others who may be spending more time standing in the water than a recreational paddler and/or those who will be putting a lot of wear on their suit, we recommend the Kokatat Hyrdus 3.0 Super Nova Angler Paddling Suit or GoreTex Super Nova Angler Suit, both of which are heavier-duty versions of this suit.

The chest is measured around the fullest part of your chest. Stand relaxed and breath normally while taking this measurement.

Based on the user's height and weight, we need more information to guarantee proper drysuit fit. Please use a cloth tape measure or a long string and ruler to collect the following measurements.

This is measured around the widest portion of lower torso, found between where you would wear a belt and your sternum.

The user's shoe size might be too big/small for the standard dry sock on this dry suit.

If you are interested in purchasing a suit with a different size sock, or have any sizing questions, please give us a call.

This is the larger measurement between where a belt would rest and your natural waist (natural waist is where the narrowest part is, above the hip, and where your torso bends when bending sideways)

Take this measurement from the side to ensure the correct placement of the tape. Place the tape around the hips and across the widest part of the buttocks. Make sure that all pockets are empty.

The sleeve is measured as follows: Hold arm directly out to the side, parallel to the floor, palm down. Bend the elbow forward, stop hand in front of nose. Place the cloth measureing tape at the base of the neck, starting at the spine. Make sure that the start of the tape is at the same height as the elbow. Run tape along the arm, turn at the elbow, measuring to the wrist bone.

The inseam is measured from crotch to ankle bone. DO NOT USE YOUR PANT INSEAM! That is too long of a measurement.
