Youth Kayak & SUP Camp List & Short Descriptions

The following are short descriptions of the Kayak Academy Kids youth kayak and SUP paddle board camp programs. Click the course title links for details on what's included, prerequisites, tuition fees and a schedule for each individual youth kayaking / SUP course.


Kids SUP Paddle Board 1/2-Day Camp (5 mornings, M-F)
SUP paddling is the newest watersport, and now kids can enjoy it too because we have youth sized Stand Up Paddle Boards and SUP paddles. Using the right sized gear makes it really fun for youth to learn to Stand Up Paddle board. Our Kids SUP 1/2-Day Camp is based at our rental concession at Tibbetts Beach (AKA "Swim Beach") in Lake Sammamish State Park, Issaquah, WA. Games and play are used while learning SUP paddling strokes and safety skills such as towing rescues. Some highlights of the week include a treasure hunt, sponge tag, exploring Issaquah Creek, and taking a half day paddling trip on the final day. These lessons are for kids, ages 7 - 14.

Kids Kayak 1/2-Day Camp (5 afternoons, M-F)
Our Kids Kayak 1/2-Day Camp features youth sized touring kayaks that really let kids feel how fun kayaking can be. This lively day camp is based at our rental concession at Tibbetts Beach (AKA "Swim Beach") in Lake Sammamish State Park, Issaquah, WA. Games and play are used while learning kayak paddling strokes and safety skills such as re-entry rescues. Some highlights of the week include a treasure hunt, kayak polo, sponge tag, exploring Issaquah Creek, and taking a half day kayak trip on the final day. Sorry parents, these lesson are for kids only, ages 7 - 14.

Kids Kayak & SUP Combo Day-Camp (5 days, all-day M-F)
Double the fun with kayaking and Stand Up Paddle boarding combined into one lively day camp based at our kayak & SUP paddle board rental concession at Tibbetts Beach (AKA "Swim Beach") in Lake Sammamish State Park, Issaquah, WA. Games and play are used while learning kayak and Stand Up Paddle board paddle strokes and safety skills. Off water games include classic outdoor games such as Capture The Flag and Frisbee. Some highlights of the week include, exploring Issaquah Creek, and taking a half-day kayak trip. For kids ages 7 - 14.

Teen Kayak & SUP Camp  (4 days, Afternoons)
A first time experience for older kids
Ages: 12-18

Teen Advanced Camp  (5 days, All-day M-F)
Prerequisite: Kids Kayak Camp, Teen Kayak & SUP Camp, Family SK 101 or equivalent kayak program approved by School Director
Ages: 12-18
