Kayak Fishing Safety & Boat Handling Intro
Make your fishing experience even better! Take our kayak fishing safety course you'll learn the basics; launching and landing in various conditions, S.O.T. kayak rescues, paddle strokes to keep your kayak positioned correctly while fishing. And learn about accessorizing your kayak for fishing with safety in mind.
Prerequisites: Anyone who can swim well enough to be comfortable putting their head under water and able to swim the crawl stroke or breast stroke without a buoyancy aid can take this class, and yes we wear PFD's (life jackets) while on the water -- but you still need basic swimming skills. Minimum age--sixteen (for younger people, see our Youth Kayak Camps or call us about a Private Family Kayaking Lesson).

Duration: 2.5 hours, Sat. courses are from 9:00am-11:30am, Thursday courses are from 6:00pm-8:30pm
Class Size: 5 maximum with 5 to 1 student/instructor ratio maximum
Tuition: $80 (includes free use of dry suit, booties, and scull cap)
Instructor: Joe Kaftan or Todd Switzer
Kayak Rental: $20.00 plus tax, delivered to the lesson. (Includes S.O.T. fishing kayak, PFD, and paddle)
