Mounting holes are the standard 14.5" on center that most foot-braces use. Mounting bolts and rubber sealing washers are included. (Will not work if your kayak has glassed in studs to mount the foot braces instead of holes for mounting bolts.) The rubber washer goes between the rail of the foot-brace and the inside of the kayak. Put some anti-seize compound on the bolt threads before assembling (We use automotive "white grease" which isn't technically an anti-seize compound, but it's worked great for over 30 years of this application).

If your kayak came with the all plastic version of these foot braces, the Performance Foot Brace will be a significant upgrade. They look similar to the Slide-Lock Foot Brace used on pre-2016 WS Tempest and Dagger Alchemy kayaks except that the plastic rail and locking springs are replaced by metal parts that stiffen up the feel and hold their adjustment better. (However, they use the same gray plastic adjustment bar and the same plastic foot pad.) For these kayaks upgrading is usually as simple as unbolting the original plastic foot braces and bolting in the new metal ones.
