Men's & Unisex Sizing Chart for Kokatat Products
The numbers in the sizing charts below take one thick layer of insulation into consideration. If any part of your body exceeds the max. dimension of a size, choose a bigger size that accommodates your dimension.
The sleeve is measured with the elbow bent like when you're are typing, and measured from the center point of the back of the neck around the outside of the elbow to the wrist bone - this generally requires someone to help measure. The inseam is measured from crotch to ankle bone. The chest is measured around the fullest part of your chest. The waist is measured around your belly (usually close to the navel) or where you normally wear your pants, which ever is greater. The "Belly" measurement is around your spare tire if applicable.

* Standard sized XL dry suits with dry socks come with a M size dry sock (except for our Silver Label dry suits where XL suit comes with L socks), but about half the men this size need a L sock -- see custom sizing for dry suits below.
CUSTOM SIZING FOR DRY SUITS
If only your chest or belly force you into a bigger size, consider a custom sized suit with sleeves and legs shortened. If your height or inseam force you into a bigger size, consider a custom suit with the torso and/or inseam and sleeves lengthened. If you need a different size dry sock than what comes standard on your size suit, we can custom order a suit with the dry sock size that fits you for $70.00. Check our website to add the sock. Currently early 2022), we stock the Legacy and Meridian models L and XL with a Large Sock. At this time Kokatat is not building custom suits unless we have ordered them with our yearly preseason order. If the timing is right it can take up to 4 months to get a custom suit. To speed up the process, you can download this sheet, gather all the measurements asked for, then email them to us. We will work with you to determine if you need a custom suit. We are not offering loaner suits at this time.
For custom sized suits, Kokatat will increase or decrease the length of the arms, legs, torso (above the waist) on most of their dry suit models for a modest charge, but they do not build or alter a suit to a list of body measurements. The adjustments they can make are limited in scope and depend on the model and size of the drysuit; it is too complicated for most retailers to work with and no other dealer will guarantee the fit if you order a custom sized suit.
**For dry suit sizing, we believe all fit tables such as this are oversimplified and only work for the fortunate few who are near the middle of a given size range (i.e. an even inch or two under the maximum of each dimension in a give size). For all others, use this table as a rough guide to see whether or not a standard size suit will fit.
